Format and Information 

When parents bring their children to the waters of Baptism, they promise to raise them in the Catholic Faith and lead them into a personal relationship with Christ. This is a life long journey for both parents and their children.  Knowing that this formation has eternal consequences, we are committed to assisting you in this most important responsibility.


Ste. Marie Parish, in support of parents as their children's primary catechists, offers a family based Faith Formation program called “Families Formed in Christ (FFC).  The materials for this program are provided by Sophia Institute Press and is entitled, “A Family of Faith:  A Complete Guide to Forming Catholic Children.”  The fees for this program cover the following:

Dinner each month

One Parent Guide and Student activity book for At-Home Lessons

Catechism of the Catholic Church (if needed)


Registration Information:


This program is for families with children in grades K thru High School

A non-refundable deposit of $50 per family is due at the time of registration and will be applied to the total annual cost per family of $90.


We never turn away any family due to financial challenges.  If there is any financial concerns, please call our office to discuss your circumstance so that we may assist you appropriately.   


Program Format:


FFC runs Sept. to May 


2017/2018 Monthly Format basics for families:


Week 1 - Parents attend an Adult Meeting

First Tuesday of each month from 7-9pm 


Weeks 2 & 3 - Parents teach at home


Week 4 - Family Community Meeting


*3rd Saturday of the month from 4-7:15pm

Includes 4pm Mass and dinner

*Acception is Dec. and May - Family Community Mtg will be the first Saturday of these two months 


Childcare & PreSchool is offered for children ages 6 months up to 5 years old.




First Reconciliation (FR) and First Communion (FC) Information: 


Sacramental prep fee of $40 per child covers:  books, retreat and photography


The Sacrament of F. Reconciliation is received during an FFC scheduled family community meeting


F. Communion takes place at the 8, 9:30 & 11:30am Sunday Masses on Divine Mercy Sunday (the Sunday after Easter)  For 2018 - the date is April 8

Direct prep begins in grade 9 - GO TO REGISTRATION TAB to register online


Sacramental prep fee: $40 per student covers additional materials, Retreat and photography


Enrollment in Catholic School, Families Formed in Christ, or a program that is equally appropriate.


Students and their parent(s) attend 4 direct prep sessions 

 First session in October

 Second session in January

 Third session in April

 Fourth session is September, just prior to the reception of the Sacrament


Dates for 2017/2018 Confirmation Prep:

Oct. 14, 2017     Jan. 13, 2018     April 14, 2018          Sept. 22, 2018


Confirmation Mass for students who completed prep by Sept. 2017 is set for Sunday, October 29, 2017.  (This Mass fulfills your Sunday obligation)
